Refinancing a home can be stressful and uncertain, but my experience with Veterans United was the complete opposite, and that’s entirely because of Yoel Stefanos and Christie Thomason.From the very beginning, they treated me like more than just another file or number in the system. They treated me like family. Yoel and Christie took the time to walk me through every step of the refinance process, making sure I understood what was happening and why. No question was ever too small, and they were always there with clear answers, encouragement, and guidance.What really stood out to me was their communication. I was never left wondering what was going on. They kept me informed throughout, checked in regularly, and ensured everything moved smoothly. That level of care and professionalism made what could have been a stressful process feel easy and reassuring.Because of their dedication and hard work, I was able to refinance my mortgage and secure a better rate, but what I gained from the experience was even more valuable: the confidence of knowing I had a team truly looking out for my best interests.Yoel and Christie are the kind of people who remind you that great service still exists. All I can say, is that if you’re lucky enough to get Mike on your team, your experience will be even better. Veterans United Home Loans is seriously the best loan company to go through and they really have your back. They answer your questions and don’t abandon you when you’ve locked in a home and are closing or in that process. They’re supportive and answer all questions quickly and take care of a LOT of things on their end to make your life easier. I will always recommend. Thank you for helping me obtain my forever home, because I’m so tired of moving constantly and so is my family. You gave us that peace.

Lance and his team were absolutely amazing throughout our entire closing process. They truly did everything in their power to make sure we had a fast, smooth closing with no unnecessary delays. From start to finish, they were professional, responsive, and clearly dedicated to helping everything go as seamlessly as possible.Lance especially made sure that none of my questions went unanswered. Anytime I needed clarification or had a concern, he was quick to respond and always took the time to explain things in a way that made the process easy to understand. His helpfulness and patience made what could have been a stressful experience feel much more manageable.Both Lance and Sandy went above and beyond to keep everything on track, and their communication and support made a huge difference. It started out great but just got more and more stressful and felt more difficult to get answers/communication. Things ended up getting confused and we struggled to find who to speak with and what next steps were. At the end, things felt rushed and chaotic. It felt as though we were constantly having to validate ourselves throughout the process and a lot of tedious work that we have never had to prove before...this was our third time buying a home and the process seemed much more convoluted than before.

Thank you for sharing this feedback. I’m really glad to hear things started off well, but I’m sorry the process became stressful and confusing as it moved forward. Not being sure who to reach out to or what the next steps are can make an already complex process feel even more overwhelming.

It’s also understandable that the documentation and verification requests felt frustrating, especially since this wasn’t your first home purchase. Even for experienced buyers, the loan process can sometimes involve additional verification steps that feel repetitive or unexpected, and I’m sorry if that wasn’t clearly explained along the way.

Hearing that the final stages felt rushed and chaotic is also concerning. Buying a home should feel supported and organized, and I’m sorry if communication from our side didn’t provide the clarity you deserved throughout the process.

I was always under the impression that buying a house would be a very stressful and difficult process. But working with VU completely changed that perspective—it was an unbelievably smooth and straightforward experience. My loan officer, Dustin Johnson, and his team were incredibly helpful, knowledgeable, and proactive throughout every step. They always kept me informed, answered all my questions promptly, and made sure I understood everything that was happening.Their professionalism and genuine care turned what could have been a nerve-wracking process into something I actually enjoyed. The only downside to closing on my house is that I won’t get to work with Dustin and his team on a daily basis anymore.
